My Favorite Game

What is your favorite game? Did the game meet your expectations? How long do you think it took to complete the programming for the game? Research the game and see how long it was in production.

My favorite game is Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2011 for Xbox 360.  It met my expectations in all areas.  It's gameplay was friendly, the graphics were very illustrated, and the speed was incredible.  I have no idea how long it took but I would guess about 6 months.  On the internet it showed that it took 8 months to complete the game.

Demo

Do you think you've learned more about your game topic in the process of making this demo? If so, what have you learned and why do you think you've acquired this new knowledge? If not, why not? If you could talk to the journalists, website content-writers, Wikipedia authors or other "knowledge producers," how would you suggest they improve their resources to help you improve your learning-process?

Yes I believe that we have gained a significant amount of intel from making our demo game.  I have learned the different things you can do in flash, how to properly install code, and the special effects that are at your fingertips. I have acquired it from hardwork and hours spent working with my teammates.  I would suggest that they develop certain CD rom's or programs available off the internet to install or learn how to perform things in flash.

Favorite Gaming System

What is your favorite gaming system? Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii? Why do you prefer this system over the others? How much time do you typically spend gaming per day?

I don't have any of those systems. I have a play station 2 and that's it. I don't really play video games much so I don't play at all during the day.

Favorite Experience

What has been your favorite experience in this class so far?
My favorite experience in this class has been making our game with my team.  We have learned alot about computers, technology, and the gaming world from making this game.  It is very fun and interesting.  We hope to keep up the good work and try to have a successful game.

respect our military

The men in our military fight for everything that we are able to hold dear.  Everytime we go somewhere, or are able to walk down the street in peace; it is because of the lives they have given.  They protect us, and keep the people in this country safe.  There is no gift anyone could ever give to repay a veteran.  I am thankful that when I lay my head down to sleep at night that these fine men and women in the armed forces are givng up everything for my freedom.

sound

How do you plan to use sound in your game? How will it help enhance the game play and learning experience of your game?

We plan to incorporate it so it will excite our gameplay.  It will make the player feel invlolved in the game and hear real world sounds.  It will also play educational sounds by discussing physics and giving facts about laws and theories of motion.

flash

Reflect on the class so far. Do you like working in flash? Why or why not? Title of the Blog--Flash

Answer- I think working in flash is very cool, but can also be difficult.  If you are not on top of your game and do not pay attention, you can mess your whole scene up. I do like flash, it helps us take huge strides with the animation, and graphics of our game.  It provides all the tools necessary to build and visualize a state of the art video game.

Animation blog

  • Share a link, video or picture of an animation you like that relates to your game topic. What makes this animation stand out to you?

    Link blog

  • Explore your Knowledge Community and find a research link you find helpful from another student's blog. Write a post explaining why this is a useful resource, link back to the blog of the student who originally posted it, and add the link to your blogroll. If you can't find anything of use from your peers' blogrolls, do some research and suggest a new resource that you found on your own.

  •      http://www.hypergurl.com/blog/flash/tools-tutorial.html, this link has helped me understand how to fully use flash and update our game. It is very helpful to our group and can help yours too, you should use it.

    Visual Storytelling

  • Creating scenes in a sequence helps game designers tell the "story" of their game through a narrative. How are you using visual storytelling through your sequence of scenes to help players learn about your topic? What are examples of games you played in the Playing to Learn topic that use storytelling to teach a concept well? How have other narrative games influenced your game?

  • Our characters in the game represent ourself and they act in the game as if they are in real life. For example, the different car selection we have goes by speed. There is the mini van, the truck, the car, and the sports car. You can use common knowledge of automobiles and know ttheir speeds.  Honestly, there are no games that have influenced ours. It is one of a kind and we have used lots of creativity to come up with this game.

answer to the new topic game question

I have learned that this new game will require a lot of hard work and patience.  My main source of information has come from Ms. Grim and the other schools students about their game ideas.  Because she is our teacher and she guides us through the whole process so that is why we trust her.  I trust the other students because they are going through the same thing as us.

    Paper Prototype

The paper prototyping has helped us see what we really want on our game, it has been a huge factor in how many levels we are going to have.  It has also helped us see how much work we have ahead of us, this will not be easy but I think that team Ginger Spread Sandwhich has it under control.  Another thing that the prototyping has done is help us see the design and shapes we want our objects to be in the game.  We are very excited about our detailed paper prototype.

    blog 2

Today we played several new games and I have different ideas from them all. I personally liked the archery game the best and also the mathematics game. They teach the basics skills that you need for algebra and geometry. I think with seeing these games it will help us design a awesome game for people to use and understand. Our goal is to increase our knowlege as well as others. I prefered the archery game because it invloved more complex thinking skills and better knowledge of your angles and design.

    blog #1

My name is Nick, I go to Hurricane High School and we beat Winfield 42-14.  This has nothing to do with game design, but my teacher loved it.

I have a group of three in our globaloria class, and we are hoping to design a very friendly and environmental game. It will teach kids about there basic angles and slope desingns with Kinetic energy. The game will be based on the plane of an arrow pulled on a certain amount of pressure and relased accordingly with the angle pointd in the air. In this class I hope to learn the beginning stages of how modern game design works. I would also like to gain knowledge on how you use avatars, vocis, and other social networking tools.

I think that our team will design an error free and math friendly game for all ages.  I also think that we should have computer privacy incase of serious virsues, and people who creep on minors on the internet.
